December 2025 Issue

Welcome to our inaugural CACHI Highlights Bulletin — the new internal communications for our ACH Network!

We’re launching this Bulletin to keep you regularly informed about CACHI programming, internal operations, and key initiatives. Our goal is simple: to strengthen communication and transparency by providing timely news and updates. This Bulletin supplements, but doesn’t replace, other communication channels, such as the CACHI Listserv and other emails from the CACHI Team. You can also access archived issues of the CACHI Highlights Bulletin all in one place from our password-protected webpage (https://www.cachi.org/highlights-bulletin) using the password: cachi1234.

We’d like this Bulletin to be useful to you, so feel free to share any feedback or ideas for future issues. You’ll find a lot of timely and useful information inside, so please take a look and, if you have any questions, reach out to Tina (tina@cachi.org) and/or Rea (rea@cachi.org).

Important Updates As We Head Into 2026:

CACHI Final Report DUE January 31, 2026

The final report for CACHI is due on January 31, 2026. Email instructions were sent on Friday, December 5th. This report covers the full funding period from 2023-2025. The report has four parts described below. We recommend downloading the attached instructions to prepare your responses in a word document before submitting the information online.

  1. Update the Milestones Checklist with your status as of December 31, 2025.

  2. Provide a Narrative Report highlighting lessons learned and accomplishments from the last 2.5 years as well as what you need for next year.

  3. Complete the Financial Report using the spreadsheet that will be sent to you in a separate email.

  4. Provide Supplemental Materials if available, such as governance structures, logic models, publications, and photos.

The Milestones Checklist must be completed in SurveyMonkey and the remaining documents must be completed in Submittable. Please DO NOT EMAIL us the documents. If you need assistance, please email Arpiné (arpine@cachi.org).

CACHI Team Transitions

  • Jeremy Cantor’s new role
As was shared in an earlier note on the CACHI listserv, Jeremy is no longer with JSI but will continue supporting CACHI as a coach and advisor as an independent contractor. We are excited to continue working with him! Jeremy’s new email is jeremy@cachi.org.

  • Hanaa Hamdi’s transition
Hanaa has made the difficult decision not to continue as a coach with CACHI in 2026. Her decision was not made lightly and reflects her organization’s capacity and a strategic inflection point of her work. We are deeply grateful for her partnership and contributions to the ACHs and CACHI over the years. The CACHI Team is working with Hanaa to ensure a smooth transition.

  • New CACHI coaches: Jacqueline Franco-Silva and Roza Do
We are also excited to share that we are adding two additional coaches to our coaching roster. This will be in addition to our continuing coaches: Laura, Ignatius, and Jeremy. Please welcome to the CACHI coaching family: Jacqueline “Jacky” Franco-Silva and Roza Do. Both Jacky and Roza have worked with CACHI in other capacities, and we are thrilled to have them support ACHs directly through coaching. More info below.

Program Offerings in 2026

Thank you to those of you who completed the recent program survey — your input has been incredibly helpful in shaping the details of next year’s program offerings. As discussed during the December 8th CACHI TA Webinar, we’re sharing key updates below related to Peer Learning Circles, Coaching Office Hours, and the Quarterly Virtual Learning and Network Meetings. For a quick overview of CACHI’s program offerings for next year, please take a look at this one-pager.

Peer Learning Circles

Based on feedback from the program survey and recent discussions during the December TA Webinar, the proposed topics for next year’s Peer Learning Circles are:

  • Youth wellbeing

  • Workforce development, including community-connected workforces

  • Medi-Cal and CalAIM 101

  • Community rapid response

We also heard strong interest in data, indicators, and measuring impact, and plan to offer this as a learning topic at a future all-network Virtual Learning and Network Meeting. More details coming soon.

Next steps: We’ll begin identifying leads to convene and facilitate each Peer Learning Circle. In the near future, we may reach out to some of you who expressed interest through the survey, as well as other potential facilitators. In the next issue of the CACHI Bulletin, we’ll share more information — including brief descriptions of each Peer Learning Circle and details on how to participate.

Coaching Office Hours

Starting next year, CACHI will be offering a new coaching model, giving ACHs greater flexibility to schedule time with a coach of your choice based on your current support needs.

We’re making this shift for a few key reasons. ACHs’ needs have evolved significantly since the start of the grant more than two years ago — some ACHs are seeking more support, others less, and many are looking for different types of support altogether. We also heard a strong desire for more control over when, how, and whether coaching support is used.

This updated approach is designed to be more responsive to where ACHs are now, while also streamlining and simplifying the coaching process.

How will coaching work?

Beginning in January:

  • ACHs can sign up for 1:1 coaching sessions with a coach of your choice, based on your needs and priorities.

  • CACHI has launched a coaching webpage with bios and background information on each of the coaches to help you identify the right coach to work with and to schedule a session with them.

  • ACHs can continue to work with your current coach or select another coach based on their topical expertise or experience you are looking for.

  • ACHs may schedule one-time sessions or ongoing meetings — completely up to you.

  • Coaching sessions will be focused on responding to your needs to advance your work (rather than general check-ins).

  • Coaching is strongly encouraged but entirely optional. This is a resource available to you, and we hope you’ll take advantage of it in ways that are most useful.

What can coaching be used for?

Coaching support can cover a wide range of topics, including:

  • Governance and community engagement

  • Funding and sustainability

  • Partnerships and communications

  • Health improvement strategy development

  • Interpreting and navigating state policy

New coaches

As noted earlier in this Bulletin, we’re excited to welcome Jacqueline Franco-Silva and Roza Do to the coaching team. You can learn more about their backgrounds and areas of expertise on the Coaches webpage (as linked above) and schedule time with them directly.

Important note

If you currently have recurring meetings scheduled with your coach that extend beyond the end of this year, your coach will be canceling those meetings. You’ll be able to re-establish sessions with your coach and/or schedule time with other coaches using the new scheduling system.

Schedule for Quarterly Virtual Learning and Network Meetings in 2026

Based on the program survey results, the Quarterly Virtual Learning and Network Meetings will be held the first Wednesdays of the months listed below, from 10am to 12pm. The only exception is in May, which will convene on the 3rd Wed of that month on May 20th. Calendar invitations were sent on Thursday, December 11th from the general@cachi.org email address. If you did not receive a calendar invitation, or need to make changes to your ACH contacts, please email lateesha@cachi.org and arpine@cachi.org

Schedule, 10am - 12pm, Wednesdays:

  • February 4th

  • May 20th

  • August 5th

CACHI’s Impact Report

We are excited to share that we’re currently working on an impact report to mark 10 years of CACHI and the ACHs in California. The report will be released early next year. The impact report will showcase the accomplishments of the individual ACHs, the ACH Network, and CACHI. As the scope of the impact report develops, we may be reaching out to some ACHs for you to share stories, quotes, and images to highlight.

Looking Ahead: 2026 Annual Network Meeting & 10-Year Milestone

We’d first like to express our deep gratitude to the ACH partners who are participating in the ACH Co-Design Group: Randip Khangura, Adel Domingo, Michael Arnot, Nancy Vernon, Peggy Agron, Jacqueline Franco-Silva, and Telina Barrientos. Thank you for generously sharing your time, insights, and leadership — your contributions are invaluable!

Next year, 2026 marks 10 years of CACHI and ACHs in California. Our Annual Network Meeting in April will be an opportunity to reflect on all that we’ve accomplished together over the past decade, celebrate this milestone, and discuss the future of the ACH Network as we look ahead.

For next year’s Annual Network Meeting, the Planning Team is taking a new, more collaborative approach to meeting design. We want to hear directly from ACHs about the priorities, lessons, and work you’d like to share and discuss with peers across the network.

To support this, we’ll be launching a Call for Sessions for the first time. ACHs will have the opportunity to submit proposals for ~75  minute sessions, with flexible formats, on topics you’re interested in leading at the Network Meeting. A stipend (similar to what was offered at the last Network Meeting) will be provided to ACHs involved in organizing a session.

We’ll be sharing more details in the new year, including suggested themes and focus areas for the Call for Sessions. For now, we wanted to give you a heads-up and time to begin brainstorming ideas.

As we endeavor to be more collaborative and make our time together in April as meaningful as possible, we welcome your feedback and any additional ideas you’d like to share with the Planning and ACH Co-DesignTeams.

In Formation: Early-Stage Initiatives

PHACT Coalition

CDPH has invited CACHI to participate in a newly forming statewide effort — the Public Health for All (PHACT) Coalition — which aims to counter public health misinformation and strengthen the delivery of timely, evidence-based, and culturally appropriate health messaging across California. This initiative is still in its early stages: working groups are just beginning to form, develop charters, and outline goals and workplans, and many aspects of the coalition’s structure are still taking shape. CACHI and PHI were asked to co-chair the Community Partners Working Group, and one of our early roles is to help identify members. Our priority is to ensure that community-rooted partners — including ACHs from across all regions — have a meaningful seat at the table. We have also emphasized to CDPH that authentic community participation must be resourced through stipends or other support.

Although still emerging, this invitation signals CDPH’s growing recognition of ACHs and the CACHI Network as important statewide infrastructure. If you’d like to stay informed directly, we encourage you to sign up for the PHACT Coalition distribution list to receive updates, event information, and CDPH resources. To help PHACT better understand partner priorities, capacity, and opportunities for collaboration, we encourage you to complete this brief public survey.

CACHI Statewide Wellness Fund

We also want to share an early-stage development related to funding. CACHI has a small amount of remaining state dollars (roughly $200,000) that we do not want to return at the end of this year.

To make the best possible use of these funds, we have established a CACHI Statewide Wellness Fund, which, for administrative reasons, is being held at Contra Costa Regional Health Foundation rather than our usual fiscal sponsor, Community Partners.

This fund is still in the early design phase, but our intention is to use it to help leverage additional philanthropic dollars (for example, as a match); cover meeting travel costs, including our commitment to sponsor travel for ACHs to the April in-person Network Meeting in lieu of new CACHI grant funding next year; and potentially support smaller projects such as rapid response or other mini-grants. We’re sharing this now so you are aware of what’s in motion, and we will provide more details as the structure and opportunities become clearer.

Strategic Roadmap Implementation

As we begin implementing our 2026–2029 Strategic Roadmap, CACHI is putting more structure around how we stay connected with ACH partners and gather insight that can help inform our work. Many of you have highlighted the importance of clearer communication, shared language, and ongoing opportunities for dialogue — all of which align closely with the roadmap.

ACH partners have already shaped much of CACHI’s work through ad hoc advisory groups, network meeting planning, co-design sessions, surveys, the knowledge management group, and other informal opportunities for input. Building on this foundation, we are developing a CACHI Advisory Council to create a more consistent space for strategic conversation and feedback as we move into CACHI 3.0. This is still in early stages, and we will share more about the purpose, membership, and process early next year.

We will also be investing more intentionally in building and activating the ACH Network — the collective of all ACHs across the state. The Network has long been a place for shared learning; looking ahead, there is an opportunity for it to play an even stronger role in connection, coordination, and collective action on issues that directly affect ACHs and the communities you serve. As part of this early-stage work, we may convene short-term advisory groups to help identify near-term priorities and supports. More details will be available in January.

These efforts are still taking shape, and we will keep you updated as they evolve.

In Closing

As we near the end of the year, with all its festivities and holiday celebrations, we hope you find time for rest and restoration. We look forward to continuing to work with you in the new year.
